Solid Waste and Recyclables Hauling Services

The County of Appomattox is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive solid waste and recyclable material hauling services for all municipal properties and facilities. The contract will cover regular collection, transportation to authorized disposal/recycling facilities, compliance with state and federal environmental regulations, and provision of necessary equipment and labor to ensure reliable service throughout the contract period. • Collect and transport residential, commercial, and institutional solid waste and recyclables on a scheduled basis. • Ensure compliance with Virginia Department of Environmental Quality standards and any applicable hazardous waste handling rules. • Provide all labor, trucks, containers, and ancillary equipment needed to perform the hauling services. • Submit regular performance reports and maintain required documentation for waste tracking and disposal. • Offer contingency plans for emergency or peak‑load situations to guarantee uninterrupted service.
