Solar PV Systems for Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center & Schainker Plaza

The City of Ames is seeking proposals from qualified solar photovoltaic firms for the design and installation of roof-mount solar projects at two City-owned facilities: Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center and Steven L. Schainker Plaza. The City aims to maximize electricity generation using the available space at each facility, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and demonstrate community leadership. The selected firm will be responsible for designing, planning, scheduling, permitting, installing, interconnecting, and maintaining the solar PV systems. Key requirements include: • Providing a turnkey web-based monitoring system • Offering an Operations & Maintenance service plan • Complying with applicable building, mechanical, fire, seismic, structural, and electrical codes • Meeting the City's renewable energy goals and reducing electricity costs • Demonstrating experience in designing, planning, and installing solar PV systems The City will evaluate proposals based on factors such as cost effectiveness, performance history, technical approach, and experience of the project team.
