15kV Cable for Electric Services

The City of Ames is seeking quotes for 15kV cable for Electric Services. The cable should be jacketed, tape-shielded, 220 mil ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) insulated, copper conductor, and suitable for duct, direct buried, and riser/outdoor applications. The cable manufacturer should follow ANSI/ICEA S-97-682, AEIC CS8, and ICEA S-93-639 standards. The cable should have a minimum of one-year warranty against any manufacturing defect. The acceptable manufacturers are Kerite and Okonite. • The cable should be manufactured in the U.S. or Canada. • The bidder must be either the cable manufacturer or the manufacturer's authorized factory representative, or authorized distributor. • The cable should be new, made-to-order, or recently manufactured, and obtained directly from the manufacturer. • The test reports should show that the cable was manufactured no more than six months prior to the bid due date. • Any exceptions to the specifications must be expressly requested in writing and contained within the bid.
