Concessions Agreement @ Backbone State Park

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) seeks proposals for a qualified service provider to operate and manage concession services, cabin rentals, and beach lodge rentals at Backbone State Park. The selected respondent will be responsible for maintaining the facilities and grounds and will have the right to make improvements to the facilities with approval from the DNR. The respondent must submit their proposal via email to the issuing officer by December 19, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. • The concession services include food and beverage sales, boat rentals, and other recreational activities. • The cabin rentals include 16 modern cabins with amenities such as fire rings, picnic tables, and modern plumbing. • The beach lodge rentals include a lodge with a concession stand and a boathouse with boat rentals. • The respondent must have experience in operating and managing concession services, cabin rentals, and beach lodge rentals. • The respondent must have a good understanding of the park's rules and regulations and must be able to work with the DNR to ensure compliance. • The respondent must have a plan for maintaining the facilities and grounds and for making improvements to the facilities with approval from the DNR.
