Assistant Wellness Coordinator (Law Enforcement Peer Support

The City of Cincinnati seeks a qualified consultant to serve as Assistant Wellness Coordinator for the Police Department, delivering peer‑support, trauma‑response, wellness training, and therapy‑animal management for officers and other first‑responders. The role requires extensive law‑enforcement experience, certifications in critical incident stress management, and the ability to manage a therapy dog full‑time. The consultant will design and implement wellness programs, respond to critical incidents, maintain data, and provide administrative support to the primary Wellness Coordinator. • Provide peer‑support, CISM response, and trauma‑recovery services (including after‑hours). • Design, deliver, and manage wellness training (minimum 20 hrs speaking experience) for CPD personnel and external responders. • Train, handle, and care for therapy dogs, with at least 2 years of dog‑ownership or training experience. • Build partnerships with clinicians, nonprofits, veterans agencies, and other service providers. • Maintain confidential records, produce required reports, and support program administration.
