ADA Transition Plan

The City of Avondale is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to prepare an ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan Update and an implementation tracking system. The work shall support the City in identifying, prioritizing, budgeting, implementing, and monitoring accessibility improvements in City programs, services, facilities, parks, and public rights-of-way. The scope of work includes reviewing and integrating existing parks and public right-of-way survey data, conducting a review of City buildings and associated public site elements, and preparing a plan suitable for City review, public comment, adoption, and public posting. Key aspects of the project include: • Preparing a detailed project work plan, quality control plan, data management plan, and schedule • Conducting regular project coordination meetings with City staff • Developing a standards and methodology memorandum • Providing a project schedule showing key project milestones and deliverables • Preparing a data crosswalk and integrated parks/right-of-way barrier inventory • Normalizing all parks and right-of-way barrier data • Conducting supplemental field verification as needed • Preparing a staff review draft ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan • Providing public review draft ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan and public engagement materials • Developing an improvement tracking system • Providing GIS-compatible data package, maps, photographs, and supporting source files • Conducting staff training sessions • Providing management, committee, and/or City Council presentation materials • Providing a final project data inventory and closeout package
