RFP # 31 OF 2026 - ARMED SECURITY SERVICES FOR THE BLASCO MEMORIAL LIBRARY / ERIE MARITIME MUSEUM AND VETERAN'S SERVICES

The County of Erie is seeking proposals for armed security services for the Blasco Memorial Library, Erie Maritime Museum, and Veteran's Services. The contract will be for a period of five years, with an anticipated start date of June 15, 2026. The successful vendor will be required to provide 78.25 hours of security coverage per week, with a total of 78.25 hours per week. The vendor will be responsible for supplying, scheduling, and assigning employees to perform the following duties: securing and monitoring the building, maintaining security patrols, and reporting any unusual incidents or hazardous conditions. The vendor must also provide a supervisor to perform an inspection each shift to ensure compliance with the agreement. • The vendor must have Act 235 certification and training in lethal and non-lethal force. • The vendor must have a general knowledge of fire alarm systems and computer-aided security systems. • The vendor must have current EMT certification and be trained in CPR/AED. • The vendor must be NIMS certified. • The vendor must have a high level of mobility and be able to stand for long periods, bend, squat, twist, stoop, climb, and lift up to 25 lbs.
