Professional Debt Collection Services

The Yakima County District Court, Probation Services, and Contracted Municipal Courts are seeking a professional debt collection agency to provide debt collection services. The selected contractor will be responsible for collecting debts owed to the County, including fines, fees, assessments, restitution, civil penalties, and interest on all such accounts. The contractor will be required to maintain confidentiality, provide regular reports, and comply with all applicable federal and state laws. The contract will be for a term to be specified in the final contract, and the County reserves the right to add or delete any items from the proposal or resulting award. The evaluation criteria will include costs, references, training and implementation plan, technology and extra services, and responsiveness to the proposal. • The County is seeking a contractor with at least five years of experience in successful debt collection services. • The contractor must provide qualified and adequately trained staff to manage all delinquent account activities. • The contractor must be set up to receive electronic transfer of referrals and to receive and transmit secure FTP files. • The contractor must collaborate with the automated payment processor to implement the automated receipting of payments. • The contractor must maintain a complete, separate, and detailed record of each account, including all debt collection actions taken.
