Community Wi-Fi Expansion

The City of New Haven is seeking a qualified proposer to deploy high-speed, secure, and scalable wireless internet access across the New Haven Green for community and cultural events. The project includes installation of outdoor-rated Wi-Fi 6/6E access points, dedicated fiber-optic backhaul, and enterprise-grade network electronics. The contractor will also configure WPA3 security, VLAN segmentation, and centralized network management. The completed system must provide at least 90 percent coverage at -67 dBm or better and support at least 1 Gbps symmetrical bandwidth per sector. Key features of the project include: • Installation of approximately fifteen outdoor-rated Wi-Fi 6/6E access points • Dedicated fiber-optic backhaul to a Community Anchor Institution • Enterprise-grade switches, routers, and PoE equipment • NEMA-rated outdoor enclosures and electrical power connections • Solar power and backup UPS equipment where utility power is unavailable • Mounting hardware and fiber and communications cabling • RF coverage testing, fiber certification, and speed and throughput testing
