Description

The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) is seeking a Biological Containment Isolation System (BCIS) to convert existing USAF TMT60 positive-pressure tent shelters into negative-pressure, multi-patient isolation systems for managing patients with High-Consequence Infectious Diseases (HCID). The system must meet specific requirements, including negative pressure, air exchange, filtration, and compatibility with the TMT60 tent system. The contract will be awarded through a two-step process, with the first step involving the submission of a Solution Brief package and the second step involving the submission of a full proposal. • The system must be able to maintain a negative pressure differential of -2.5 Pa (≈ -0.01 in. w.g.) and have an air exchange rate of ≥12 Air Changes per Hour (ACH). • The system must have a filtration efficiency of 99.97% removal of 0.3-micron particles and be able to operate at normal temperature and pressure. • The system must be modular, field-installable, and reversible, and must not interfere with the tent's original form, fit, or function. • The system must be able to accommodate movement of patients on standard litters and have a visual alarm when pressure is outside the required negative range.

Budget estimate

$5,000,000 – $20,000,000

Based on the complexity of the project and the requirements specified, the budget for this opportunity could be substantial. The contract is for the design, development, and testing of a Biological Containment Isolation System, which could involve significant research and development costs. Additionally, the system must meet specific requirements and standards, which could also impact the cost. A rough estimate for the budget could be in the range of $5 million to $20 million, depending on the scope of the project and the number of prototypes required. The actual budget will depend on the proposals submitted and the negotiations with the selected contractor.
