Dover AFB - Mobile Embalming Unit (MEU)

The US Air Force is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of providing a Mobile Embalming Unit (MEU) to support mortuary affairs operations. The MEU should be a self-contained, rapidly deployable unit with a 1-station embalming workspace, environmental controls, and operational modes for self-supported and externally supported configurations. The unit must be housed in a 20-foot ISO CONEX container and meet various technical specifications, including plumbing, water/sewer connections, lighting, power, HVAC, and safety equipment. Interested parties should submit a capability package, including corporate information, a statement of capability, and past performance information. • The MEU must be fully compliant with OSHA and DoD regulations and standards applicable to mortuaries and funeral home preparation facilities. • The unit must be designed for rapid and easy transportability across air, sea, and land logistics networks. • The MEU must include a complete and functional embalming suite with a mortuary lift, plumbing, water/sewer connections, lighting, and power sources. • The unit must have a self-contained tri-fuel generator and an OSHA-compliant HVAC system. • The MEU must be constructed with durable materials, including Corten steel, and meet applicable fire safety standards.
