Description

The Tomahawk Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility Process Improvements Project involves various improvements to the facility, including odor control, sidestream nitrogen treatment, gravity thickener H2S reduction, co-thickening, sludge cleanout manhole, primary clarifier, micro-C dosing, pre-anoxic mixers, digester access, chlorine contact basin, filter complex, and storm drain isolation. The project requires the installation of new equipment, modification of existing systems, and construction of new structures. The successful bidder will be responsible for completing the work within the specified timeframe and budget. Key aspects of the project include: • Odor control improvements: installation of covers on the BNR Basin anaerobic and pre-anoxic basins, and addition of Odor Control System No. 4. • Sidestream nitrogen treatment improvements: separation of centrifuge startup/shutdown slop flows from the main centrate discharges and redirection to the plant drain. • Gravity thickener H2S reduction: addition of ferric chloride feed capability to the Primary Sludge Gravity Thickener/Fermenter. • Co-thickening improvements: modifications to allow thickened primary sludge to discharge directly to the Co-Thickened Sludge wetwell. • Sludge cleanout manhole: addition of a sludge cleanout manhole over the CTS lines between the Solids Processing Building and Digester Control Building. • Primary clarifier improvements: construction of an access drive and installation of cleanouts for scum pit drainpipes. • Micro-C dosing improvements: replacement of potable water with Plant Effluent Water as carrier water for Micro-C dosing. • Pre-anoxic mixers: addition of a second submersible mixer in pre-anoxic zones. • Digester access improvements: replacement of the existing cageless ladder with a stair tower. • Chlorine contact basin improvements: replacement of all aluminum slide gates with corrosion-resistant materials. • Filter complex improvements: installation of an electric actuator on the secondary effluent/filter influent gate. • Storm drain isolation: installation of an isolation drainage system near the ferric chloride truck unloading station. The project requires a thorough understanding of wastewater treatment processes, equipment installation, and construction practices. The successful bidder must demonstrate experience in similar projects and provide a detailed plan for completing the work within the specified timeframe and budget.
