15kV Cable for Electric Services

The City of Ames is seeking quotes for 15kV cable for Electric Services. The cable must meet specific material and testing standards, including ANSI/ICEA S-97-682, AEIC CS8, and ICEA S-93-639. The cable will be used for duct, direct buried, and riser/outdoor applications. The manufacturer must have a declared Quality Management System (QMS) that is ISO registered. The cable must be shipped on non-returnable reels, with a minimum of one-year warranty against any manufacturing defect. • The cable must be jacketed, tape-shielded, and have a 220 mil ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) insulation. • The conductor must be non-filled, annealed uncoated copper per ASTM B-496 class B stranded, compact copper. • The insulation shield must be extruded, semi-conducting thermosetting compound applied over the insulation. • The shield must be a 5 mil thick uncoated copper tape with a 12.5% overlap. • The jacket must be a black non-conducting, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) jacket extruded over the tape shield. • The cable must be marked with legible indent print with specific information at intervals of not more than two feet.
