R602--Courier services between OBVAMC and CBOCs

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking information from potential vendors on their ability to provide scheduled and as-needed round-trip courier services between the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center (OBVAMC) and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in the Shreveport-Bossier metropolitan area. The services will include the secure transport of pharmaceuticals, laboratory specimens, medical supplies, administrative materials, and small equipment. The contractor will be required to provide all personnel, supervision, equipment, vehicles, licenses, insurance, materials, and management necessary to perform the services. The period of performance will be for a base period of one year, with optional extensions up to four additional years. • The contractor must have experience in providing courier services, particularly in the medical field. • The contractor must have the necessary equipment and vehicles to perform the services. • The contractor must have a plan in place for emergency situations, such as natural disasters or vehicle breakdowns. • The contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. • The contractor must have a system in place for tracking and reporting deliveries. • The contractor must have a plan for ensuring the security and confidentiality of sensitive information.
