Towing Services for the City of Des Moines Fleet Services Division

The City of Des Moines is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide towing services for the Fleet Division. The services will be requested on an "as needed" basis and include towing, winching of light and heavy vehicles, changing passenger and light truck tires, and jump-starting City vehicles and/or equipment. The selected contractor will be required to respond to calls 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, including all holidays and weather conditions. The contract term will be from May 1, 2026, through April 30, 2028, with the option to extend for two additional two-year terms. Key aspects of the job include: * Providing all labor, equipment, and materials required to provide towing services * Responding to calls within 30 minutes * Maintaining proper safety protocols and equipment * Complying with all applicable laws and regulations * Providing proof of insurance and meeting insurance requirements * Having a minimum of two years of experience in commercial towing operations * Having an adequate number of experienced staff to perform the requirements of the contract
