DPS Post 13 Upper Parking Lot Replacement

The State of Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking professional design services for the replacement of the upper parking lot at the Department of Public Safety Post 13. The scope of work includes providing complete construction drawings and specifications, attending design kick-off meetings, and collaborating with the geotechnical investigation. The selected firm will be required to provide a lump sum price for the base scope of work, including all reimbursables, and breakdown prices for design development documents, construction documents, bidding or negotiation assistance, and construction phase services. • The project requires the replacement of the upper parking lot, including demolition and removal of the existing parking lot and installation of new concrete paving. • The design shall address current ADA compliance requirements and incorporate solutions to prevent water infiltration into the vestibule. • The selected firm shall provide construction administration services, including creation of the submittal and closeout items log, review of and responses to submittals and closeout documentation, and participation in project meetings. • The firm shall also provide field observation reports, with photos, submitted for each site inspection within five days of the site visit. • The contract will be a modified ConsensusDoc 803, which will include professional liability insurance in the amount of $2 million. • The proposed project fee, start dates, and scheduling of the selected firm's services shall be established during negotiations.
