Description

The City of Brandon is seeking qualified contractors to perform the Brookstone Place Drainage Improvements project, which involves replacing and upgrading a storm‑drain system. The work includes installing approximately 222 linear feet of 18‑inch reinforced concrete pipe, adding four new grate inlets, removing about 60 linear feet of existing 6‑inch and 10‑inch corrugated plastic pipe, removing two existing grate inlets, grading the surrounding areas, and reseeding disturbed soils with sod. All labor, equipment, and materials are required, and the contractor must be licensed and possess a Mississippi Certificate of Responsibility. The contract period is thirty consecutive calendar days, with liquidated damages of $500 per day for overruns.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $400,000

The bid documents do not state a contract price. Based on typical municipal drainage projects of this size—222 ft of 18″ reinforced concrete pipe, removal of existing pipe, grading, and landscaping—the total cost is likely in the mid‑hundreds of thousands of dollars. Assuming unit costs of $800‑$1,200 per linear foot for pipe plus $50,000‑$100,000 for removal, grading, and sod, the overall contract value could range from roughly $200,000 to $400,000.
