Civilian Meals Ready to Eat (MRE) For Emergency Events

The City of Chesapeake is issuing an IDIQ RFQ for civilian Meals Ready‑to‑Eat (MREs) with flameless heaters to be used in emergency response. The contract will cover breakfast, lunch, dinner and assorted entree cases, delivered within 24 hours of order to any City facility or POD. Quantity is indefinite; the City will issue task orders as emergencies arise. The award will be to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with a three‑year performance period and no renewal options. Bidders must submit electronic quotes by October 23, 2026, and answer any questions by October 19, 2026. The City requires proof of insurance, SCC registration, and compliance certifications.
