Conveyor System

The College of Engineering at Western Carolina University is seeking an automation system integrator to design, fabricate, install, and commission a baseline conveyor system to serve as a laboratory fixture for robotics and automation coursework. The system will be a closed‑loop aluminum frame with up to four work stations, each equipped with stop gates, sensor mounting points, and a programmable interface. WCU will provide core PLC hardware; the vendor must deliver detailed CAD designs, procure any additional components, assemble the system, perform testing, and ensure compliance with safety and university standards. Delivery and commissioning are required by mid‑December 2026. • Design and CAD approval of an extruded‑aluminum conveyor frame with T‑slots for modular attachments • Supply and install motors, drives, PLC integration (CompactLogix 5380), HMI, safety E‑stop circuitry, and wiring • Provide up to four station stop gates, pre‑stop gates, and optional guarding with safety switches • Conduct acceptance testing (functionality, safety, LOTO, I/O verification) before handover • Deliver complete documentation, training, and warranty support • Project must be completed and commissioned by 14 Dec 2026
