Description

The My Brother’s Keeper Family and Community Engagement Program (FCEP) is a four‑year state grant aimed at improving academic achievement and college‑and‑career readiness for boys and young men of color through stronger family‑school‑community partnerships. Eligible applicants are New York public school districts (including NYC Community School Districts, High School Districts, and District 75) that meet specific free‑lunch, ELL, and graduation‑rate thresholds, or consortia of up to four districts led by a BOCES. Each award must include a mandatory partnership agreement and a minimum 25 % match, which can be satisfied with district, private, or other governmental resources. Funding for FY 2026‑27 totals $9.3 M, with $3.1 M earmarked for NYC districts and $6.2 M for the rest of the state, and individual award caps of $150 k (or $300 k/$600 k for consortia). The application deadline is September 15 2026, with an optional Notice of Intent due August 28 2026 and a Q&A deadline of August 13 2026. • Eligible applicants: NY public school districts or BOCES‑led consortia meeting FRPL/ELL/graduation thresholds. • Funding limits: $150 k per individual district; $300 k (NYC consortium) or $600 k (ROS consortium) per consortium. • Mandatory requirements: Partnership Agreement, 25 % match, M/WBE 30 % spend, original signatures on FS‑10, and comprehensive narrative. • Timeline: Q&A due Aug 13 2026; NOI optional Aug 28 2026; application due Sep 15 2026; project runs Sep 1 2026 – Aug 31 2030.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $250,000

The total funding pool for FY 2026‑27 is $9.3 M, with individual district awards capped at $150,000 per year (or $300,000/$600,000 for consortia). Assuming a vendor secures a subcontract for a portion of an award—e.g., delivering professional‑development workshops or technology platforms—they might receive anywhere from $50,000 to $250,000 annually, depending on scope, consortium status, and the share of the budget allocated to their services. Larger consortium awards or broader service scopes push the high end, while a single‑district award with a modest service component stays near the low end.
