GEOLOGIC MONITORING TAYLOR AVE

The City of Frankfort, Kentucky, is seeking a consultant to provide geologic monitoring services for an abandoned rock quarry adjacent to Taylor Avenue. The consultant will be required to define the current geologic condition of the property, identify a geologic monitoring approach and its related cost, and provide an order of magnitude cost estimate for possible mitigation strategies. The scope of work includes conducting a site visit, developing a geologic map, conducting an engineering geometry analysis, and using piezometers to determine groundwater conditions. The consultant will also be required to propose a monitoring plan, obtain a copy of a scanned baseline point cloud, and provide an initial cost to implement the monitoring plan. • The project requires a site visit to conduct a geologic evaluation and develop a geologic map. • The consultant must propose a monitoring plan that describes technologies to continuously monitor the site for a three-year period. • The consultant must provide an initial cost to implement the monitoring plan and any cost associated with Years 2 and 3. • The consultant may be asked to provide design and construction services for any selected mitigation strategies. • The contract shall be for a period of three years.
