Laboratory's Courier Services

The State of South Dakota’s Department of Health, through its Public Health Laboratory, is seeking a qualified contractor to provide statewide courier services for the transport of clinical, environmental, forensic, and veterinary specimens. The contractor must ensure next‑day, temperature‑controlled, secure delivery across up to three geographic regions, with capabilities for on‑demand and emergency shipments, electronic tracking, and comprehensive reporting. The contract will run for five years with possible annual renewals, and the State may award the work as a single contract or split it among multiple vendors. • Provide next‑day, temperature‑controlled courier services (refrigerated, frozen, ambient) for lab specimens across South Dakota. • Maintain chain‑of‑custody, security, and real‑time electronic tracking for each shipment. • Supply trained drivers, climate‑controlled vehicles, and detailed invoicing/reporting; pricing may be per‑stop, per‑mile, or route‑based.
