2026 Elk and Sheep Helicopter Capture

The South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks is seeking a qualified vendor to provide aerial wildlife helicopter capture services in the Black Hills region. The contractor will be responsible for capturing and collaring approximately 40 bighorn sheep and 60 adult female elk using helicopters and experienced personnel. The contractor must provide all necessary equipment, supplies, and personnel to complete the project. The project is expected to last for 3 months, from January 1 to March 31, 2026. • The contractor must have extensive wildlife capture experience, with a minimum of 1,000 flight hours. • The contractor must provide a detailed cost proposal, including costs per captured and collared animal, ferry hours, and crew expenses. • The contractor must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and obtain any necessary permits and approvals. • The contractor must provide proof of insurance and bonding, as required by the State. • The contractor must provide a detailed project management plan, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
