Tama Brine Building Water Line Extension.

The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids to install a new 6‑inch water main and associated infrastructure linking the City of Tama water system to the DOT Maintenance Garage’s brine building, with an optional HDPE alternate line. The contractor will provide all labor, materials (except shut‑off valves and fire hydrants supplied by the City), and must meet City of Tama specifications, perform under DOT supervision, and complete work within a three‑month window. • Install 6‑inch ductile‑iron water main from City of Tama system to DOT Maintenance Garage, including boring under Business Highway 30 and conventional excavation. • Install physical shut‑off valves, fire hydrants, new water meters, and interior shut‑off valve at the brine building; City supplies valves/hydrants, contractor installs. • Optional alternate: install 6‑inch HDPE line from a stub at the brine building service to the Maintenance Garage. • All work must comply with Iowa Administrative Code 761‑20, be coordinated with DOT inspection schedule, and finish by October 1 2026.
