Walter Kelley River Access

The Winooski Natural Resources Conservation District is seeking a contractor to improve the Walter Kelley River Access area. The project involves constructing stairs/ramps for access to the water, creating a universally accessible river access point, and reducing environmental impacts on the shoreline of the Winooski River. The contractor will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing all materials and supplies, providing labor, and ensuring proper crowning and removal of any grader berm or ruts at the shoulder at the end of construction. Key aspects of the project include: • Reshaping of existing swales • Stone lining of existing swales • Installing sediment traps • Replacement and installation of culverts • Crowning and shoulder grading The project aims to limit soil disturbance, reduce riverbank erosion, maintain a low invasive knotweed presence, and reduce the spread of harmful aquatic species.
