North Carolina State University is issuing an RFQ for the procurement, inspection, maintenance, testing, recharging, and annual servicing of fire extinguishers across its multiple campuses and off‑site properties, in compliance with NFPA 10 (2026 edition) and the 2018 NC Building Code. The contract will be awarded to a single qualified vendor for an initial twelve‑month period, with optional four one‑year renewals. The vendor must supply brand‑new extinguishers, perform scheduled monthly and annual inspections, maintain electronic records in the university’s F‑lnspect system, provide parts and accessories, and respond to emergent service requests within two hours. • Provide brand‑new fire extinguishers (various sizes) – delivery within 72 hours, up to 1 week. • Conduct monthly inspections of ~4,300 campus extinguishers and ~200 off‑site units, plus annual inspections of all units. • Perform recharging, hydrostatic testing, part replacement, and record all activities in real‑time. • Maintain a backup stock of extinguishers on‑site; loaner units are prohibited. • Submit detailed monthly service and retirement/replacement reports; adhere to 80 % cost‑threshold retirement rule. • Required licensing/ certification (NFPA 10, NC Fire Code) and no subcontracting allowed. • Contract value to be quoted per unit/visit; vendor must include insurance, bonding, and compliance documentation.
