Description

The City of Coconut Creek, Florida is seeking qualified, licensed general contractors to design and construct an upsized wastewater force‑main along NW 39th Avenue. The work must be completed within 180 calendar days of the Notice to Proceed, and the contractor must comply with extensive local, state, and federal regulations, including licensing, insurance, safety, and environmental requirements. • Scope: excavation, pipe installation, testing, back‑filling, and restoration of the NW 39th Ave. force‑main corridor. • Estimated contract length: 180 days (≈ 6 months). • Mandatory qualifications: ≥ 5 years experience, appropriate Florida contractor licenses, no SAM exclusions. • Bonds required: 5 % bid bond; 100 % performance and payment bonds after award. • Pre‑bid conference (non‑mandatory) on 29 Oct 2026 at City Hall; site visit not required but encouraged. • Submission via eBid system; all questions due 23 Nov 2026. • Award process includes compliance review and City Commission approval.

Budget estimate

$5,000,000 – $15,000,000

The solicitation does not disclose the contract value. Based on typical costs for municipal force‑main upgrades (approximately $25‑$30 per linear foot for 24‑inch pipe, plus excavation, traffic control, and ancillary work), a 2‑mile (10,560 ft) project could range from $5 million to $15 million depending on site conditions, utility conflicts, and material prices. Therefore, a reasonable ball‑park estimate for the contractor’s revenue is $5 M – $15 M. Factors influencing the final amount include exact pipe diameter, depth of burial, soil type, required traffic detours, and any unforeseen subsurface conditions.
