Description
The Indian Health Service (IHS) intends to award a sole source contract to Carefusion Solutions LLC for the provision of automated pharmaceutical dispensing system lease and support services for the Mescalero Indian Health Center. The contract will include a base period from August 01, 2026, through July 31, 2027, with four option periods through July 31, 2031. The services will include software licensing, preventative maintenance, technical support, system upgrades, and repair services for the existing CareFusion/BD Pyxis medication dispensing system.
• The system is an automated medication dispensing and inventory management system integrated into the clinic's pharmacy and medication management workflow.
• The required services include software licensing and subscription services, manufacturer-authorized software patches and updates, preventative maintenance and repair services, technical and customer support, system troubleshooting and diagnostics, access to proprietary system software and firmware updates, replacement parts and manufacturer-certified components, and continued interoperability and compatibility support with the existing installed Pyxis infrastructure.
• The current Pyxis system is proprietary to Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), and only BD is authorized to provide the required OEM-authorized support and maintenance services.
