National Centers for Cryo-electron Tomography (cryoET) (R24 -Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is for support of National Centers for Cryoelectron Tomography (CryoET) to provide nationwide access to advanced cryoET instrumentation and technical support, and to assist investigators in acquiring the skills needed to perform cryoET studies. The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) supports basic research that increases our understanding of biological processes and lays the foundation for advances in disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. Key aspects of this opportunity include: • Providing access to advanced cryoET instrumentation and technical support • Assisting investigators in acquiring the skills needed to perform cryoET studies • Supporting research in specific clinical areas that affect multiple organ systems • Requiring progress reports and financial statements • Evaluating the effectiveness of the program in serving the needs of the research community and expanding the user base
