Sign Language Interpreter Referral Service

The Vermont Department of Buildings and General Services is seeking a qualified contractor to operate a statewide Sign Language Interpreter Referral Service. The contractor will maintain a certified interpreter database, provide a public‑facing request portal, ensure minimum 40 hours/week of interpreter availability, conduct outreach and education events, and deliver detailed quarterly and annual reporting. Compensation is based on hourly interpreter fees with a projected volume of roughly 7,600 interpreter hours per year. • Operate a 24/7‑accessible referral platform and guarantee at least 40 hrs/week of interpreter coverage. • Maintain a roster of RID/BEI‑certified interpreters, manage scheduling, travel billing, and post‑assignment satisfaction surveys (≥ 80 % satisfaction required). • Provide quarterly usage reports, annual evaluation reports, and conduct a minimum of four community‑outreach events each year. • Contract term is an initial two‑year period with up to three one‑year renewal options (potential total of five years).
