2026 Water Meter Replacements

The City of Bryan is seeking a qualified contractor to replace approximately 20,000 AMI water meters over the next 4 years. The project will be completed in phases, with Phase One requiring the exchange of approximately 5,000 water meters and 3,700 smartpoints. The City will provide the necessary materials, excluding meter gaskets, and the contractor will be responsible for labor and associated equipment. The project has an estimated budget of $500,000 and a target completion date of 120 working days. • The project requires the replacement of aging ¾” and 1” iPERL water meters with new meters and smartpoints. • The contractor will be responsible for deactivating and reprogramming existing smartpoints and replacing them with new ones. • The project includes an additive bid item for the evaluation of public and private water service lines at the meter location. • The contractor must comply with the City's insurance requirements and provide proof of insurance before commencing work. • The contractor must also comply with the City's contractor registration program and provide a statement of qualifications.
