Description

The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority is seeking a qualified engineering consulting firm to provide professional engineering services for the Membrane Pilot Project at the Richardson Water Treatment Plant. The selected consultant will be responsible for establishing project performance objectives, evaluating membrane performance, designing and furnishing a pilot-scale membrane treatment system, and providing operational and maintenance support throughout the pilot testing period. The scope of work includes services such as data collection, review, and analysis of available membrane performance data, identification and evaluation of qualified membrane manufacturers, and development of a comprehensive pilot testing plan. • The project involves the design, operation, testing, and evaluation of pilot-scale reverse osmosis (RO) membrane treatment systems for public drinking water applications. • The selected consultant will provide professional engineering services, including performance-based monitoring and evaluation of commercially available low-pressure reverse osmosis (LP-RO) membranes. • The consultant will also be responsible for analyzing pilot testing results and preparing a final pilot study technical memorandum. • The project is expected to be completed within 12 months, with a strong emphasis on meeting the schedule of deliverables outlined in the request for qualifications.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this project is estimated to be between $500,000 and $2,000,000. This estimate is based on the scope of work, which includes the design, operation, testing, and evaluation of pilot-scale reverse osmosis (RO) membrane treatment systems, as well as the provision of professional engineering services. The project's complexity, the need for specialized equipment and expertise, and the duration of the project (12 months) all contribute to the estimated budget range. Additionally, the fact that the selected consultant will be responsible for analyzing pilot testing results and preparing a final pilot study technical memorandum suggests that the project may require significant resources and expertise, which would also impact the budget.
