Medical Malpractice Defense Services

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking proposals from law firms with expertise in defending high‑exposure medical‑malpractice claims against the system and its medical staff. The awarded firms will handle the entire lifecycle of complex malpractice matters—including investigation, litigation, trial, and regulatory consultation—as well as provide risk‑management support and in‑service training. Two contract categories are available: (1) major‑defense firms that will receive a high volume of cases from claim filing through final disposition, and (2) specialty firms with niche expertise that will be engaged on an as‑needed basis. The contract is a four‑year framework with optional one‑year extensions, paid on a monthly‑in‑arrears basis, and requires detailed hourly‑rate proposals for a range of attorney and support‑staff roles.
