Towing Service

The contract is for towing and storage services for Eastern Kentucky University. The successful contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the complete services as indicated in the attached specifications. The contractor will be responsible for towing vehicles to the university's impoundment lot or their own impoundment lot, and for storing vehicles. The contractor will also be required to have a secure and accessible impoundment lot, and to have tow trucks available for service calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The contract includes the following services: vehicle tow to EKU lot, vehicle tow to contractor lot, contractor storage daily, contractor storage weekly, and contractor storage monthly. Additional services include vehicle unlocks, jump starts, and tire changes on campus and in the City of Richmond. The contract requires the contractor to have insurance, including workers' compensation, general liability, and business automobile liability. The contract also requires the contractor to furnish certificates of insurance to the university. • The contractor will be paid on a monthly basis for services performed. • The contractor will be required to have a working two-way communication system capable of communication with each tow truck. • The contractor will be required to have qualified employees operating the tow trucks. • The contractor will be responsible for ensuring that its employees do the following: park impounded vehicles in the university's locked impoundment lot or the contractor's impoundment lot, properly secure impounded vehicles if possible, and secure the impoundment lot gate upon leaving. • The contractor will be required to record the damage to each vehicle towed or relocated on the tow receipt. • The contractor will be required to have a waiver of subrogation in favor of Eastern Kentucky University, its regents, and employees.
