State Street (Closed) Landfill Photovoltaic and Battery Energy Storage Systems

The Douglas County Purchasing Agent is issuing a Request for Information for a potential project on the State Street (Closed) Landfill. The project involves the siting of utility scale photovoltaics and battery energy storage systems. Other proposed uses, including those that can be complementary to photovoltaics and/or battery energy storage systems, will also be considered. The County is seeking information from interested parties on potential siting of these systems. • The project is located on a 160-acre site that was previously used as a municipal solid waste landfill. • The site is ideally located within a mile of an existing OPPD substation. • The County is looking for information on potential beneficial uses on the site, with priority to those producing/storing electrical power. • There is no guarantee that a Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued as a result of this RFI.
