CWRWS Surface Water Filter & Backwash Upgrades

The City of Casper is seeking a qualified consultant to design and preliminarily construct upgrades to its surface water filtration system. The work includes replacing filter media, underdrains, and troughs, and evaluating an air‑scour system to replace the existing spray‑arm backwash method. This multi‑phased project will address components that have reached the end of their useful life since their 1996 installation. • Replace all underdrains and troughs, install new sand and activated‑carbon media. • Conduct engineering design and preliminary construction planning for the filter upgrades. • Evaluate the feasibility, cost, and performance of an air‑scour backwash system versus the current spray‑arm system. • Provide detailed technical recommendations and cost estimates for implementation. • Coordinate with City of Casper engineering staff throughout the project.
