Description

Georgetown County is seeking qualified firms to create a preliminary “complete street” design for the Highway 17 corridor in downtown Pawleys Island. The scope includes improving pedestrian walkability, integrating mass‑transit and cyclist facilities, enhancing wayfinding signage, applying traffic‑calming measures, and redesigning parking layouts. The selected firm will deliver conceptual plans, design drawings, and recommendations that support a safer, more multi‑modal streetscape. • Develop conceptual design concepts that meet “complete street” standards. • Produce design drawings for sidewalks, bike lanes, transit stops, signage, and parking reconfiguration. • Incorporate traffic‑calming strategies and pedestrian‑friendly elements. • Provide cost estimates and phased implementation recommendations.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $300,000

For a county‑level streetscape design project of this scope, typical professional‑services fees range from $100 K to $300 K. The low end assumes a concise concept‑only package, while the high end reflects more detailed design drawings, cost estimating, and phased implementation plans. Factors influencing the final amount include the extent of field surveys, community outreach requirements, and the level of detail the county requests in the final deliverables.
