Handicapped Bus

The State of Maryland is seeking to procure a new 13-passenger 2026 Handicapped Commercial Bus. The bus should have two wheelchair-accessible spaces and meet the product specifications outlined in the solicitation. The contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder with the lowest price. The bidder must have at least three years of experience in the design, integration, or delivery of handicapped buses and have made at least two successful deliveries of similar buses to government or commercial customers within the past five years. • The bus should have a 159" wheelbase and a 14,500 GVWR. • The bus should have a driver-side airbag and an inside rearview mirror with a camera. • The bus should have a 7.3 L V-8 premium gas engine and an automatic transmission. • The bus should have front mud flaps, heated and remote mirrors, and 16" wheels. • The bus should have a non-CDL in all states. • The bus should have 12 high-back premium seats, gray padded vinyl interior, and 12 retractable lap belts. • The bus should have a Gerfloor anthracite gray flooring and yellow step nosing on entry steps. • The bus should have grab handles and armrests on aisle seats only. • The bus should have a Trans Air 60K BTU rear air conditioner and a 45K BTU rear heater. • The bus should have overhead luggage racks with reading lights and a 30" rear luggage compartment. • The bus should have a driver's storage compartment and a 5lb fire extinguisher, safety triangles, and a first aid kit. • The bus should have a back-up alarm, a camera in the mirror, and an AM/FM/CD with 4 speakers. • The bus should have electric entry doors and a 6x9 interior convex mirror. • The bus should have modesty panels behind the driver and entry, a yellow standee line, and dual entry grab handles. The contract will be for a one-time purchase, and the contractor will be required to provide the bus at a firm-fixed price.
