The National Cemetery Administration is conducting market research to identify parties interested in and capable of providing bulk topsoil to Calverton National Cemetery on an as-needed basis. The cemetery requires 1,300 cubic yards of topsoil annually, with the option for an additional 200 cubic yards. The contractor will be responsible for delivering the topsoil bi-annually during spring and fall, with each delivery coordinated on an as-needed basis. The topsoil must meet specific requirements, including being a fertile, friable, natural earth of loamy character, without a mixture of subsoil, and containing at least 5% organic matter. The contractor will also be responsible for preserving and protecting all structures, equipment, roads, and vegetation on or adjacent to the delivery site.
