VEHICLE MODIFICATIONS

South Carolina’s Vocational Rehabilitation Department is soliciting qualified vendors to provide vehicle‑modification services for consumers who require wheelchair‑accessible transportation. The contract is structured as a single‑award, fixed‑price IFB divided into five separate “lots,” each covering a specific wheelchair‑lift accessory or related adaptive equipment. Vendors may bid on one or more complete lots, but each lot must be offered in its entirety. The State will fund only the modified portion of the vehicle; the chassis cost is excluded from the bid. All work must adhere to the latest manufacturer installation directives and NMEDA standards, include a minimum one‑year warranty, and be performed within the specified geographic service radius. Payment is withheld until a SCVRD rehabilitation engineer inspects and approves the final delivery. • Provide adaptive‑vehicle accessories (wheelchair lifts, ramps, control systems, etc.) as defined in Attachments A‑F, each constituting a separate lot. • Deliver, fit, and demonstrate the equipment at the vendor’s facility; the State engineer will inspect on the final delivery day. • Maintain a one‑year warranty covering parts, labor, and any necessary adjustments, with service available within 20‑50 mi of the consumer’s home. • Submit a responsive, lowest‑price bid by 06/30/2026 11:00 AM; award expected 07/21/2026 with work beginning 07/31/2026 and concluding by 12/30/2026.
