Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Marion Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP) is seeking a qualified small‑business vendor to supply, install, and dispose of twenty (20) specialized behavioral‑health mattresses. The mattresses must meet strict safety, durability, fire‑barrier, weight‑capacity (500 lb), size (max 35″ × 82″), and design specifications (RF‑welded seams, non‑skid bottom, 4‑way stretch cover, copper‑gel foam, etc.) suitable for a behavioral health environment. The contractor is also responsible for removing and properly disposing of the existing mattresses and all packaging waste in compliance with federal, state, and VA environmental regulations. Delivery is FOB destination to the Marion VA Medical Center, with installation coordinated to minimize disruption to patient care. The contract is a small‑business set‑aside, firm‑fixed‑price award; vendors must provide a standard manufacturer’s warranty and be an authorized distributor of the specified mattress model. • Provide 20 new behavioral‑health mattresses meeting detailed technical specs. • Remove and dispose of 20 existing mattresses and associated waste. • Deliver to Marion VA Medical Center (2402 W Main St, Marion, IL 62959) FOB destination. • Install mattresses with minimal impact on operations. • Supply manufacturer’s standard warranty and warranty documentation. • Must be a small‑business (including HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB) and an authorized distributor. • Offer due 08 Sep 2026; contract award date not specified.

Budget estimate

$34,000 – $56,000

The contract calls for 20 specialty mattresses plus removal/disposal services. Assuming a unit price of $1,500–$2,500 per mattress (typical range for high‑spec behavioral‑health beds) the material cost would be $30,000–$50,000. Adding disposal fees ($200–$300 per old mattress) adds $4,000–$6,000, bringing the total contract value to roughly $34,000–$56,000. The estimate accounts for possible variations in OEM pricing, freight, and labor for installation.
