Benefits Broker/Consultant Services

The City of Reading is seeking a benefits broker/consultant to provide advice and assistance in reviewing the City of Reading Employees Benefits Program on a continuing basis. The selected vendor will ensure that the program is in compliance with federal requirements and adequate with respect to the marketplace. The scope of work includes reviewing contracts, plan documents, and insurance policies, as well as providing actuarial services and maintaining records of the financial and claims experience. The vendor will also participate in communications and actions with insurance and healthcare reimbursement carriers, and assist in developing communication materials and coordinating the design, editing, printing, and production of those materials. • Reviewing the City of Reading Employees Benefits Program to ensure compliance with federal requirements and adequacy with respect to the marketplace • Providing advice and assistance in reviewing contracts, plan documents, and insurance policies • Maintaining records of the financial and claims experience • Participating in communications and actions with insurance and healthcare reimbursement carriers • Assisting in developing communication materials and coordinating the design, editing, printing, and production of those materials • Providing actuarial services, including projecting funding needs for upcoming fiscal years • Participating in audits of vendors, if requested
