RADIATION PROTECTION LICENSING SUPPORT

The State of South Carolina Department of Environmental Services seeks qualified contractors to provide radiation‑protection licensing support. The contractor will review, evaluate, and process radioactive‑material license applications, amendments, renewals, and terminations, applying NRC and state regulations. Work will be performed remotely, with an anticipated workload of roughly 20 hours per week over a maximum five‑year contract period (initial one‑year term with four one‑year renewal options). The award will be posted on 09/23/2026 and the contract will commence no earlier than 10/01/2026. • Review and approve/deny radioactive‑material license submissions in accordance with NRC Inspection Manual Chapter 1248, Appendix A. • Communicate deficiencies to licensees and ensure corrective actions before final approval. • Maintain required documentation, checklists, and records for all licensing activities. • Provide qualified personnel (NRC‑qualified or Agreement‑State‑qualified reviewers) to perform the work. • Deliver services remotely from the contractor’s location, with all deliverables submitted to the SC DES office in Columbia, SC.
