CAUSTIC SODA

The City of Greenville is seeking bids for the supply of caustic soda for the Water Production Plant and the Wastewater Reclamation Center. The estimated annual requirement is 150 dry tons of caustic soda, and the supplier must meet the American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards. The contract will be for a period of 12 months, with the option to extend for an additional 12 months. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities. • The caustic soda must conform to AWWA Standard B501-93 and AWWA B501a-97. • The supplier must provide a certificate of analysis and an affidavit of compliance with each delivery. • The supplier must deliver the caustic soda within 5 working days of the order. • The supplier must provide Material Safety Data Sheets for the caustic soda. • The supplier must have a driver training program in place to ensure safe handling of the caustic soda. • The supplier must have an inspection and maintenance program for their equipment.
