Cemetery Maintenance Project No. 26-18

The Town of North Haven, Connecticut, is soliciting bids for cemetery maintenance services at four town-owned cemeteries: Old Center Cemetery, New Center Cemetery, Montowese Cemetery, and Ancient Cemetery. The contract duration is 12 months, with the option to extend for two additional years if the successful bidder maintains the same pricing schedule. The services required include: 1. Mowing, trimming, and pruning of turf areas, including private fenced family plot areas and tree belts. 2. Weekly removal of dead or dying flower arrangements and disposal. 3. Pruning of specific shrubs and low-hanging branches from trees. 4. Removal of tree limbs and branches that have fallen from trees. 5. Placement of fence rails when vandalized or fallen out of the split rail fence system. 6. Spraying for weeds in internal roadways and in-roads. 7. Spring and fall season cleanup, including leaf removal and trash pickup. 8. Fertilization program, including balanced granular formations applied in the spring and fall. Bidders must provide: 1. Proof of insurance, including workers' compensation, public liability, and property damage insurance. 2. A bid bond or certified check equal to 5% of the total bid. 3. A certificate of insurance upon receipt of notice of award. The bid must include the total price per year for each service, and the total bid must be submitted on the provided bid sheet form. Bids must be received by 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 23, 2026, and will be opened and read publicly at the Town of North Haven, Memorial Town Hall. The town reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any defects, or choose a bidder other than the lowest bidder if it is deemed in the best interest of the town. The successful bidder will be required to maintain a running record of all work performed and will be subject to the approval of the Director of Finance and Administration or their designee.
