HHS Cherokee Mental Health Institute Four Corner Elevator Replacement

The Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking professional design services for the replacement of Elevator F, a 4-stop hydraulic elevator in the Main Building, referred to as the Four Corner area, at the HHS Cherokee Mental Health Institute campus. The selected firm will provide design services, including architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical design documents, and will assist with bidding, construction administration, and closeout. The project requires a firm with experience in designing similar or relevant projects, and the ability to provide a team with the necessary qualifications, experience, and expertise. The proposal should include a detailed description of the firm's approach and methods, as well as estimated fees, hourly rates, and anticipated hours by position. • The project involves the replacement of an existing elevator with a new one, including all necessary design disciplines. • The selected firm will be required to attend a design kick-off meeting, conduct a site visit, and develop a basis of design outlining performance requirements. • The firm will also be responsible for preparing permit-ready drawings, responding to plan review comments, and assisting with bidding and construction administration. • The project requires compliance with all federal, state, and applicable AHJ codes, as well as completion of state building and energy code documents. • The selected firm will be required to provide lump sum pricing, with the lump sum base scope price being inclusive of all reimbursables.
