Fiber Maintenance and Restoration Services BVP

The City of Columbus is seeking a vendor to provide routine cable maintenance and restoration services for its fiber optic network. The contract will be for a term of three years with two additional one-year extension options. The vendor will be required to provide labor, parts, materials, and supplies for the network. The City is looking for a vendor with experience in providing similar services, a proven track record of successful projects, and the ability to meet the operational needs of the department. The evaluation criteria include company stability and history, capacity and efficacy of the services, past performance of the equipment and vendor, and cost of the services. • The vendor must have a minimum of 5,000 feet of single-mode fiber in inventory for each strand count of 24, 48, 144, and 288. • The vendor must have advance arrangements in place to provide heavy construction equipment if needed. • The vendor must submit resumes of primary staff that will be delivering services to the City. • The vendor must provide a full specification of the products offered. • The vendor must have a performance-monitoring system in place to determine failure frequency and ensure service quality. • The vendor must provide a detailed pricing structure for all services proposed.
