Description
The project involves providing architectural and engineering services for the design and construction administration of the Union County Historic Post Office and West Franklin Street Renovations. The selected firm will work with Union County to evaluate the needs of both facilities and develop design solutions that support the County's operational objectives. The project includes renovations of a 41,000-square-foot building and the Historic Post Office building. The firm will provide traditional basic architectural and engineering services, including civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical engineering, low voltage design, and design coordination with Owner's vendors.
Some key aspects of the project include:
• Providing complete architectural and engineering design services for the renovation and adaptive reuse of general office space in a retail commercial building
• Designing demolition of current interior space, renovation of interior space, new furniture to accommodate staff and daily operations
• Collaborating with the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) firm during all phases of the design and construction
• Providing project management and quality control services
• Ensuring compliance with NC G.S. 143-64.31
