RFP - Electronics Recycling Services (FY27-FY30)

Brunswick County is seeking a qualified contractor to provide comprehensive electronics recycling services for the county’s landfill facility in Bolivia, NC. The contractor will be responsible for collecting, loading, transporting, processing, and marketing a wide variety of electronic waste—including computers, peripherals, office equipment, televisions, and wiring—according to a hierarchy that prioritizes reuse, domestic recycling, and then export recycling where necessary. Services must be performed on a schedule that meets the county’s pickup windows (Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑4 pm) with a response time of five business days after notification. The contractor must supply pallets, cubic‑yard boxes, stretch‑wrap, and detailed packaging instructions, and must issue invoices with weight breakdowns for each material type. Certification to the Responsible Recycling (R2) or e‑Stewards standards is mandatory, and the contractor must carry all costs associated with personnel, equipment, fuel, insurance, and marketing of recyclables. The initial contract term is one year with two optional one‑year renewals.
