RFQ For BSE Sample Collection IDIQ

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking a contractor to collect brain stem samples from cattle for Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) testing. The contractor will be responsible for identifying and collecting samples from targeted cattle populations, documenting and packaging the samples, and shipping them to designated laboratories for testing. The contract will be for a period of 5 years, with a minimum order amount of $1,000 and a maximum cumulative value of $6,000,000. The contractor must provide personnel, labor, supervision, supplies, equipment, and materials required to collect, identify, package, and ship brain stem samples for BSE testing. • The contractor will collect brain stem samples from cattle that meet the definition for the targeted cattle populations. • The contractor will document and package the samples, and ship them to designated laboratories for testing. • The contractor will ensure that surveillance information is properly entered into the VSLS system, and that results for samples have been posted by the testing laboratory. • The contractor will comply with local, State, and Federal laws, regulations, and policies, and local and professional standards for humane handling, and euthanasia of livestock.
